  • 80386 begins its execution in real mode immediately after RESET signal
  • To enter into the protected mode it is essential to make the PE bit of CR0 logic high
  • For entering into protected mode it is necessary to maintain interrupt descriptor table (IDT) and Global Descriptor Table (GDT) and Load Descriptor Table (LDT).
  • Thus protected mode is enabled
